Dr. Steven A. Vladem Celebrates Induction into Cambridge Who's Who
Innovator and Renaissance man Dr. Steven A. Vladem has been recognized for his work in promoting global transplant awareness
CHICAGO, IL, September 2, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Dr. Steven A. Vladem, Motivational Speaker for the Professional Speakers Bureau International, Author and Executive Producer, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mathematics, computer science, motivational speech and film production.
Having an extremely high IQ and an unbelievably great memory (he was a finalist in the national Memory Competition), Dr. Steven A. Vladem excelled in his academic studies. He received a Master's Degree in Mathematics and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, a Ph.D. in Computer Science, and a D.Sc. in Applied Educational Research. He was recognized internationally for his innovative work in alternative nontraditional education and computer assisted instrution. He received the John W. Rogers "Educator of the Year" Award in 1990 from Junior Achievement for linking the schools with the business community. He received the Albert Einstein Medal and the Ambassador of Knowledge Award at Cambridge University. He was invited to speak at the International Congress on Arts and Communication. He received awards for his poetry and artwork and was given the DaVinci Diamond Award for being an innovator and a renaissance man.
At the height of his success, Dr. Vladem received a grim medical diagnosis. Encountering the threat of impending blindness, he became a two-time cornea transplant recipient. He experienced numerous transplant rejection episodes, six additional eye surgeries and the greatest physical pain known to man. Despite severe medical setbacks and against insurmountable odds, Dr. Vladem overcame additional life-threatening medical problems to triumph over adversity.
Dr. Vladem has been recognized for his work in promoting global transplant awareness. He was also honored for his work in setting up transplant centers all over the world, resulting in the saving of countless lives. Dr. Vladem promoted transplant awareness at an international conference at the medical school in Madrid, Spain. He received the Science and Peace Medal from the Albert Schweitzer Institute. He received awards from a large number of prestigious organizations for his work in transplant awareness, including London Diplomatic Academy and the International World Order of Science Education and Culture. Dr. Vladem is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Platform Association, a prestigious organization founded by Daniel Webster in 1831.
A motivational speaker affiliated with Professional Speakers Bureau International (www.terrificspeakers.com) , Dr. Vladem has served as a role model and inspired many physically challenged individuals. He has shown a great deal of courage in rising above adversity to help others.
A member of the Leadership Council for the Teaching Tolerance Program for the Southern Poverty Law Center since 2003, Dr. Vladem has been a contributor for their documentary films "Viva La Causa"
and "Bullied." Dr. Vladem has been a strong advocate to prevent intolerance and discrimination against handicapped individuals.
Recognizing the benefits of herbs and nutrients to increase brain power and heighten mental clarity, improve eyesight, prevent disease, and bolster the immune system to prevent transplant rejection, Dr. Vladem has recently begun a business venture to promote health and wellness. Dr. Vladem's life story is included in the best-selling book Inspiring Hope: Stories of Hopeful Living for More Success by Thom Lisk (head of Professional Speakers Bureau International and published by Morgan James). The book includes stories from a Pulitzer prize winner and many accomplished individuals from all over the United States. The book has been translated into nearly thirty languages and has received worldwide distribution. A portion of the sales of the book Inspiring Hope are going to the Legacy of Hope Society and Habitat for Humanity. This has led to opportunities for Dr. Vladem's story to be told in books, movies and musical plays. Dr. Vladem has received a large number of prestigious awards from a wide variety of organizations and he has received many knighthoods for his service to mankind. Dr. Vladem is planning a 501(c)(3) "House of Life" foundation to set up transplant centers all over the world and promote transplant awareness, and a 501(c)(3) foundation to provide college scholarships for handicapped and disabled students and for students who experienced transplantation or are in need of a transplant. His eagerly awaited autobiography will be published soon, and three motion pictures about his life experiences are being planned.
