Jorge L. Liciaga became a government audit director in order to give back to his community

HICKSVILLE, NY, September 2, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Jorge L. Liciaga, Audit Director of The New York City Department of Education-Office of the Auditor General, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in auditing, accounting, management and taxation.

As an audit director of The New York City Department of Education-Office of the Auditor General, Jorge L. Liciaga is responsible for overseeing 17 staff members and interns, auditing all school custodians for the City of New York, handling custodians' grievances and financial issues, coordinating collection efforts with agencies, evaluating system processes, and issuing reports. He became involved in his profession because his teacher recommended that he take up a career in accounting, and he attributes his success to his dedication, willingness to assist fellow auditors, desire to give back to the community and train college students in the accounting profession through his accounting internship program.

Mr. Liciaga received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Baruch College. In addition to his formal education, he is a certified fraud examiner and a certified government financial manager. He is a member of the Association of Government Accountants.
