CLEAR LAKE SHORES, TX, January 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As of January 23, 2012, ChartSwap, a Houston-based SalesForce ISV Partner, will go-live with a revolutionary online medical record ordering and exchange solution. ChartSwap, which is built on a Force.com platform, offers third-party requestors, including attorneys, insurers, and regulatory compliance entities a secure online record ordering and retrieval solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional record retrieval vendors. ChartSwap uses a cloud-based, intuitive interface, and reduces the process of placing and responding to medical record requests to a simple online transaction.
Despite the transition of many healthcare providers to EMR solutions, third party requestors are unable to enjoy any authorized direct transfer of the electronic medical records housed in those systems, or to access medical records via online Health Information Exchanges (HIEs). Third party requestors have been effectively excluded from the EMR equation, and have up to now continued employing a record retrieval process that is labor intensive and inefficient. ChartSwap was conceived in response to this market need as a secure and flexible solution for third party requestors to place medical record orders and exchange information with providers.
Per Randy Haynes, CEO of ChartSwap, "There are over 768 million medical record requests per year made to physicians' offices. For the typical requestor, the traditional record retrieval process averages around $30 per request in labor cost plus 30-60 days to receive the records. ChartSwap reduces that cost to $4 per request. As someone who ran a record retrieval company for years, I can say this is a significant development in streamlining the record retrieval process and dramatically reducing costs."
ChartSwap incorporates elements of both a professional social network and a traditional health information exchange. When a third-party requestor signs up with ChartSwap, they are able to search the provider database, issue record requests to existing ChartSwap provider members, upload authorizations, make electronic payments to providers, and download records once they are released. Requestors (and other providers) can also issue invitations to providers who aren't yet ChartSwap members. If the provider accepts the ChartSwap invitation, requestors are eligible to take advantage of ChartSwap's referral revenue rebate program.
