Andrea Rifkin Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Autism Care
Ms. Rifkin has dedicated more than 25 years to serving the needs of the autistic community
RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO, CANADA, February 2, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrea Rifkin, Executive Director of A Circle of Support, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in autism care.
With an impressive 26 years of professional experience, Ms. Rifkin serves as executive director of A Circle of Support, a nonprofit organization that provides residential treatment program for autistic and developmentally disabled children in family-like settings. Ms. Rifkin is responsible for overseeing residential care treatment for 28 young people with autism and other developmental disorders. She also ensures all issues are addressed concerning the residents' communication, socialization, education and life skills. Additionally, she does assessments for admission and discharge planning, works with families, and oversees a staff of 49, which includes youth workers.
After completing an undergraduate degree in psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ms. Rifkin became intrigued by the challenges of autism and got involved in the field. She attributes her success to her high level of tenacity and strong work ethic. Looking ahead, she intends to develop a good, solid succession plan, so that the care and treatment provided by A Circle of Support to the autism community may continue well into the future.
